Company Description
Murdock Martell is looking for a “can do" Accounting Manager (with a career path to Controller) who is results-oriented and willing to dive in and contribute to our clients success. You'll be a key member of our team, and you’ll play a pivotal role in facilitating our clients’ growth.

We are a new, fast-moving consulting company, with impressive credentials, specializing in finance and accounting. Our clients are in high tech, life science and clean tech in Silicon Valley and the Peninsula. We provide accounting and finance services to both early stage and established clients.

Responsibilities
You enjoy spending your time ........

Being organized and “hands on”. You are always looking to improve things and you like implementing processes and procedures. You have a passion to be in the middle of what's going on and are excited to be on the ground floor of building clients accounting, finance and administration function. You are proactive and feel comfortable interacting with all levels within the company.

-Performing all the financial & accounting functions
-Preparing monthly financial statements and Board reports
-Preparing and updating budgets & forecasts
-Managing the bottom-line, including cash and debt management
-Preparing month-end reconciliations & tracking stock options, plus managing the Cap. Table
-Audit & tax support
-Benefits administration
-Working with dynamic clients

You will be supervised and mentored by one of our Murdock Martell CFO’s.

Qualifications
-Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, CPA and MBA a plus
-10 years financial and accounting experience
-Aptitude to manage in a diverse environment with a focus on client and customer service
-Strong analytical abilities Impeccable organizational capabilities Powerful communication skills
-Strong knowledge of, and experience with accounting programs, especially Quickbooks, Microsoft Excel, payroll software (Paychex & ADP), and soon possibly Equity Edge.
