Job Description:


This individual will be responsible for financial reporting of inventory and supporting the logistics cost center analysis on a global basis. Currently, inventory is managed autonomously at two distribution facilities, one in the US (Indiana) and the other in the Netherlands, as well as on loan or in transit in several different country books throughout the world. This individual will have the opportunity to help standardize global practices in connection with an Oracle upgrade.

Ongoing:


' Responsible for overall inventory accounting and reporting including standard costing, purchase variances, excess and obsolete reserve analysis and on-loan inventory management.


' Performs product on-hand and on-loan forecasting. Will develop improved reports to influence behavior and improve business practices. This includes providing guidance on product launches and end of life.


' Develop/enhance high-level inventory reporting to enable operations and sales teams to minimize exposure to slow moving or stale on loan inventory.


' Oversees spares inventory accounting and forecasting. Will develop improved reports to influence behavior and improve business practices.


' Manages accounting teams in Santa Clara, CA and dotted-line reporting in the Netherlands


' Supports Senior VP, Global Logistics through financial analysis of logistics cost center.


' Partner with Logistics, Finance and Sales Operations personnel to identify the potential for and drive implementation of agreed process improvements which are not dependent on IT systems enhancements.


' Lead the effort in determining inventory system strategy in connection with single image Oracle implementation, including:


o Improve product costing practices to enable better business reporting


o Partner with inventory accounting personnel in each region to understand and document the as-is accounting policies and practices.


o Partner with logistics, finance and IT personnel to determine the best inventory global system processes in connection with Oracle single instance project.


o Where current inventory practice is inconsistent with US GAAP or general efficiency best-practices, recommend improvements. Discuss financial implications and functional implications with effected parties.


o Evaluate on-loan process for global consistency and improvements.


o Evaluate inventory valuation allowance practices for global consistency and improved product inventory management.


Primary Qualifications:


' BA/BS degree in Accounting. CPA credential is required.


' 10+ years experience in Accounting/Finance


' 5+ years experience with background in inventory.


' Must also be able to understand processes and workflows and lead a change management effort.


' Solid communication and presentation skills both to impacted finance staff and senior management.


' Oracle experience highly desired


Other:


' This person manages a team of 7 in Santa Clara including one senior manager, and indirectly manages three in the Netherlands including one senior manager.


' They will also indirectly oversee the inventory functions performed in-country and/or at a shared service center in Krakow, Poland.


' This will involve some travel, primarily during the initial 3-6 months on the job.
