General Comments:
The Senior Director Clinical Pharmacology will be responsible for the development and execution of clinical programs for highly innovative, new molecular/chemical entities or line extensions of approved products. On a project level, they will lead the clinical development design, interact with experts in the field, lead scientific discussions, and initiate first-in human, subsequent Phase 1, Proof-of Concept and Phase 2-studies. This position requires excellent understanding of all aspects of drug development including the ability to interpret preclinical and pharmacokinetic data and translate them into clinically relevant aspects.
It is preferred that this physician be board certified or board eligible in Internal Medicine or Cardiology and have a minimum of 5 years experience related to clinical pharmacology or early phase clinical development. The ability to lead teams, interpret scientific preclinical, clinical and pharmacology-related data and implement relevant aspects in clinical studies is essential. Preference will be given to those with cardiovascular or cardiometabolic experience.
For those with less industry experience they are open to hiring a Director and allowing them to grow into the role.
