Job Title: (Temporary) Manufacturing Technician I

Job Description:


  • Multiple openings on ALL Shifts, night and day shifts available

  • Shifts are 12 hours with rotating work weeks, work 3 days, off 4 days, work 4 days, off 3 days;

  • Overtime paid for ALL work over 8 hours

  • 15% differential for night shifts


The Technician I is responsible for manufacturing quality products efficiently, accurately, safely and on time. Utilizes manufacturing equipment and in-process instrumentation to manufacture drug products in accordance to current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), company policy and safety regulations. Position requires direct supervision or oversight by a senior employee.


Responsibilities:



  • Follows safe working practices while performing assigned duties.

  • Identifies, reports and may recommend corrective action for any unsafe conditions to a senior technician, supervisor, or department manager.

  • Adheres to safety procedures including, but not limited to wearing product specific Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements, gloves applicable to the process being performed, safety glasses, and other required equipment.

  • When handling raw materials or chemicals: reads and complies with safety precautions listed in the Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS).

  • Must be able to comprehend and complete the paperwork required for batch processing: including process labels, room and equipment logbooks, and in-process documentation.

  • Performs math calculations required for batch processing; such as determining loss amounts, process yields and accountability and verifying inventory reconciliations.

  • Cleans, sanitizes, assembles and operates equipment according to standard operating procedures and/or manufacturer’s instruction.

  • Cleans work areas by vacuuming, sweeping, mopping with various cleaning agents.

  • Documents all required equipment and process room cleanings.

  • Operates and makes minor adjustments to equipment necessary to manufacture solid dose products within specification.

  • Ensures that product is manufactured according to procedure and current Good Manufacturing Practices.

  • Monitors product and product parameters throughout processing and performs in-process sampling and/or testing when and where required.

  • Other duties as assigned.


Requirements:



  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or a minimum of six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Manufacturing experience required. Pharmaceutical experience preferred.

  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.

  • Ability to write simple correspondence.

  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organization.

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide using the metric system.

  • Ability to perform these operations using weight measurements.

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.

  • Must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
