Senior Business Applications Project Manager (Palo Alto, CA or Charlotte, NC)
The Position:
As a member of the Business Applications Team, the Senior Business Analyst/Project Manager works with EPRI internal customers to define business problems or needs that require solutions; documents current and future business processes; works with developers and others to implement solutions; provides leadership, management, and oversight for the development and implementation of key business projects.

The ideal candidate will have:

Ability to plan and manage projects – gather requirements; define scope, goals and deliverables; develop and manage project plans; estimate resources; and manage budgets;

Ability to lead – develop an in-depth understanding of business processes related to HR, Finance, Engineering and IT – including insights into the business process challenges and issues;

Ability to provide in-depth analysis of business problems – well researched and documented option/solution proposals for issues with clear, defensible pros/cons arguments;
-
Ability to understand business strategies and translate them to IT strategies;

Ability to manage vendors – expectations, issues, licenses, upgrades, etc.;

Ability to develop as-is and future states of process flows/architecture, as appropriate/needed;

A business curiosity and understanding of the direction, structure and requirements of our customers;

Ability to provide clear and concise communication, both written and verbal, at all levels;
-
Ability to take ownership of issues/projects and follow through to completion;

Ability to understand data structures and basic sql;
-
Working knowledge of enterprise applications - preferably PeopleSoft Financials, HRMS, and CRM;

Working knowledge of business intelligence applications - preferably Cognos BI and Planning;

Understanding of data modeling concepts and data warehouse architecture;

Knowledge of ETL, Databases – DB2, SQL;

Ability to identify and document system/process deficiencies and recommend alternatives/solutions;

Ability to manage multiple priorities;
-
A sense of urgency, good time management, ability to move complex projects forward.
Education Level and Years of Experience:
-
10+ years of progressive broad-based information systems and business experience.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, Engineering, or related discipline with an information technology focus.

PMI certification desired.

Experience working with customers to develop solutions for complex business problems.
EPRI participates in E-Verify, an online system operated jointly by the Department of Homeland Security and the Social Security Administration (SSA). EPRI uses the system to check the work status of new hires by comparing information from the employee's I-9 form against SSA and Department of Homeland Security databases.
