Position Highlights:
The Senior Manager, Competitive Intelligence will provide highly synthesized competitive intelligence on the financial services industry through gathering, researching and synthesizing competitive and industry information from a wide variety of sources, to provide deep and timely insights to the corporate leadership team and functional partners. The Senior Manager will focus on high-value strategic projects that provide insight and surfaces competitive implications for Schwab. Projects could also include customer research, market sizing, economic analysis, statistical analysis, and growth strategy work supporting the broader Strategy team.
Projects are broad in scope and require creativity, as well as strong project management, strategic thinking and leadership skills. The candidate must be comfortable facilitating groups and influencing individuals across a range of working styles and tenures, from senior executives to external vendors. A healthy balance between being an articulate advocate and an objective critic, along with attention to detail while maintaining the bigger picture is essential. The candidate must be self-motivated, results-oriented and a self-starter.
Technical/Functional Qualifications:
- Superior analytical skills, research capabilities, and attention to detail
- Strong preference for prior experience in Financial Services including experience with financial markets, products, technology and/or the fee-based investment advisory market
- Superior communication skills (written and verbal); ability to develop concise and effective communications tailored to specific audiences
- Ability to manage several workstreams/projects concurrently
- Strong and demonstrated teaming skills, especially in cross-functional teams
- Comfort in a dynamic and fast-moving work environment
- MBA-level education or equivalent experience preferred
- Prior management consulting experience is preferred, though not necessary
- Experience working with industry datasets as well as internal customer information is desirable
