We offer small schools so that students have mo re one-on-one time with teachers along with a four year leadership advisory program in which students take responsibility for their lives and improve their community. We are now hiring credentialed Substitute Teachers for the current and the 2010-2011 school year for our growing schools in Richmond, San Jose, Oakland and Hayward, CA
Substitute Teachers provide instruction in English, History, Math, Biology, Chemistry, Spanish or Literacy for high school classes. Substitutes are paid $125 per day
Ideal qualifications include:
• Academic expertise: a B.A. or M.A.
• California teaching or substitute credential
• Passion for teaching
• A commitment to both excellence and equity
• Experience in an urban district
• Experience with collaborative work
• Excellent communicator
• Ability to work under pressure and adapt easily
