Project Engineer – Military Electronics

ATK’s Tactical Propulsion and Controls Division is seeking an experienced Project Engineer to be located in either San Jose, CA or Elkton, MD.  The successful candidate will have a strong background in full cycle Project Management (inception through product delivery) of military electronic and mechatronic products. This role will support a highly visible and critical project.

 

Our ideal candidate will have  have performed hands-on design (analog, digital, RF etc)  earlier in career and will have assimilated progressive experience into a senior project engineering role with technical,  budget, schedule and cost responsibility.

 

 

Description

 

-        Monitor and control military grade electronic hardware project(s). 

-       Work with customers and vendors writing specifications, developing plans and schedules and monitoring projects’ progress.

-       Work with design, quality, drafting, procurement, program management, contracts, manufacturing and test departments to coordinate all aspects of product development (hardware and software),

-       Monitor and control the production and test of electronic and mechatronic product deliverables for national defense and aerospace customers.

-       Direct a dedicated design team

-       Act as chief engineer to resolve technical problems.

-       Meet cost and schedule goals

Requirements

-       BSEE or equivalent

 

-       5 or more year’s relevant Project Engineering experience on military or space grade electronics programs

 

-       Must possess considerable hands-on electrical design experience in past positions

 

-       Experience must encompass full project life cycle: inception thru product delivery

 

-       Working knowledge of software quality requirements, FPGA designs, power electronics, electromechanically driven systems and electronic packaging

 

-       Ability to obtain a Secret Clearance if required in the future
