Job Title:Editor/Writer  Job Category:Marketing / Sybase  Req Number:20455  Location:Dublin, USA Description: Sybase is looking for Editor/Writer/Speechwriter (Marcom Manager) with strong provocative thought and critical thinking skills. This position will work with the PR team and manage external communications, researching and writing speeches for the CEO. Work as a beat reporter journalist/editor covering Sybase providing content for external newsletters. Work with the CEO and a small team to research and draft external communications, such as speeches and bylines. Produce thought-leadership articles and bylines of a standard that could be published in a major metropolitan daily newspaper feature section, op-ed page, or in a general interest, trade or industry magazine. Moderate live quarterly Q&A sessions with CEO.
 
 
Qualifications: . BA/ BS with 5-7 years experience in writing. Must have alteast 5 years as a lead writer/editor. Any experience in writing/covering technology sector is a plus.
 
. Hands on experience with writing on changing deadlines for a variety of target audiences.
 
. Previous experience as a beat reporter/journalist with strong news sense, with experience writing 2000 word stories/day is a must.
 
. Prior experience in an Editorial board or as a contributing writer/editor is a plus.
 
. Any experience working on a freelance basis for several publications or ghost writing is a plus.
 
. Ability to work independently and take initiative, priorities and resolve problems.
 
. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
 
. Ability to multi-task and work with multiple groups.
