Under the direction of the Operations or General Manager, the Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for the efficient day-to-day operation of a specific warehouse operation with particular emphasis on implementing and executing shift action plans. The tracking and recording of equipment hours, assurance that equipment maintenance schedules are followed and employee meetings are conducted.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities: 

  • Provides direct supervision to shift personnel 
  • Ensures the safe, clean and efficient operation of the shift to meet service and exceed standards 
  • Train and motivate personnel for increased effectiveness 
  • Develops and implements shipping or receiving work schedules and assignments to assure effective and efficient operations 
  • Makes recommendations to the Operations Manager and/or General Manager on programs to improve shift operations 
  • Directs the shift personnel to achieve prescribed objectives. 
  • Matches the skill and background of personnel to tasks required 
  • Complete performance evaluations for assigned employees timely 
  • Evaluate daily plan for allocating equipment to job tasks 
  • Ensures the assigned equipment is utilized in the most efficient manner
Requirements

Job Related & Physical Requirements: 

  • Must be able to work in varying facility conditions. 
  • Availability to work irregular or extended hours including nights, weekends, holidays, during peak season or as needed by the customer

Minimum Experience, Education, and Training Required: 

  • At least 1-2 years of supervisory experience in a warehouse or distribution environment 
  • Computer applications using MS office 
  • PKMS system required 
  • AS400 experience required 
  • Working knowledge of warehouse / mechanical equipment 
  • Excellent supervisory skills 
  • Apparel experience preferred 
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills
