Job Summary

This role is essential for the overall development and management of Dolby’s Cinema segment long-term global strategy as well as for the shorter-term planning and execution. This person will help to drive Cinema’s overall business success and will be a leader in thinking creatively about new product offerings, be they sound, image or other.

At a minimum, he/she will be responsible for the following: key contributor to Dolby’s global business, product and marketing strategy for Dolby Professional Cinema products, both software and hardware, as well as services. Work with lead customers, Product Management, Sales, Field Service & Support, Marketing, Engineering, Research, Finance and Legal departments to define worldwide strategy and plans including go-to-market plans, pricing, positioning, promotions and new business models. Understand global customer and industry needs, market trends and competition in order to drive a long-term profitable business with a comprehensive product roadmap.


Job Functions

    * Identify and develop new business and product opportunities utilizing audio and image technologies by drawing on market research, customer interaction, partner feedback, industry knowledge, internal company ideas and resources, and creative vision.

    * Owner of business cases and marketing requirement documents.

    * Responsible for management of the Cinema segment product plan and roadmap.

    * Provide customer feedback to Product Management on new product designs, feature requirements and current product performance based on interaction with field-support personnel, cinema chains and theatre owners, studios, systems integrators, technical partners, and other customers.

    * Collaborate with Product Management in areas such as development of user manuals and training materials. Collaborate with Sales and Service around planning and execution of field/channel/customer training.

    * Responsible for go-to-market planning, including pricing models and revenue forecasting. Driver of product messaging. Key contributor to tops down forecasting for all products.

    * Responsible for driving and implementing ongoing global marketing programs and promotions.

    * Assist Engineering and others in Marketing to conduct Field Trials for new products, and technologies.

    * Review products and strategies of competitors and advise broader segment on any changes to Dolby’s products and marketing strategy.

    * Monitor and verify market research, track trends within segment, build and maintain TAM models for each product.

    * Work with Manufacturing and Sales as necessary on production planning.

    * Provide designated Marketing department personnel with status reports detailing product results, trends and other analysis.

    * Liaise with other global offices and Departments.



Other Responsibilities

    * Perform duties as assigned by immediate supervisor or any member of the Dolby management team, subject to approval by direct manager and/or departmental VP.

    * Perform tasks necessary to complete performance objectives.

    * Assist team members as needed.



Skills and Education

    * Minimum of 7 years of experience in product marketing or product management for both software and hardware products. Experience with online and technology enabled services a plus. Experience to include creating business cases, launching profitable new products, managing go-to-market plans including comprehensive pricing models, developing new business models, building out product roadmaps, interacting with customers and partners.

    * Broad knowledge of Dolby technologies. Understanding of software, hardware and online products in the entertainment industry, ideally with experience in the theatrical or post production industries.

    * BA or BS degree in Marketing, Business or appropriate technical discipline. MBA a plus.

    * Ability to work without supervision in the field, and to deal professionally with dealers, customers and partners at all levels.

    * Ability to collaborate with diverse teams.

    * Proven problem solving skills.

    * Strong oral, written, organizational and presentation skills.

    * Domestic and international travel required.
