JOB TITLE: PHYSICIAN II (BOARD ELIGIBLE/CERTIFIED IN FAMILY PRACTICE)

CLASSIFICATION: REGULAR PART-TIME OR FULL-TIME 80-100% (BASED ON A 40 HR WORK WK)
REPORTS TO: ASSOCIATE MEDICAL DIRECTOR
STATUS: EXEMPT (UNION POSITION)
SALARY RANGE: $124,567 to $134,145 FTE DOE + FRINGE BENEFITS

THE POSITION: Under general direction the individual in this position is responsible for providing comprehensive outpatient medical services to a culturally diverse population of all ages and determines appropriate regimen. Additionally provides family planning, prenatal, and GYN services to women. This position requires availability for evening and Saturday clinics.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
1. M.D. degree from a recognized University, one to two years experience working in primary care clinic setting.
2. Valid license to practice Medicine in the State of California. Board Eligible/Certified in Family Practice. If Board Eligible must become certified within 2 years of employment.
3. Thorough knowledge of the principles, methods and objectives of modern medicine, pediatrics, and obstetrics-gynecology. Excellent clinical and physical assessment skills essential.
4. Ability and willingness to work under pressure and as part of an interdisciplinary team.
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with both professional staff and clients essential.
6. Ability to keep accurate, clear and legible records.
7. Ability to deal courteously and effectively with complex patient profiles, and maintain good working relationships with other staff.
8. Bilingual in English/Spanish required.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Serves as part of provider team for Family Medicine by providing routine, acute, urgent, preventative, curative, and rehabilitative medical care to patients of all ages and determines appropriate regimen as needed. Provides prenatal, postpartum as well as gynecological care to patients. Screens and monitors the management of stabilized chronic conditions, asymptomatic and well patient care. Initiates referrals to medical specialists as required. Provides consultation for mid-level practitioners on the assessment, management and treatment of complicated cases, chart review, co-signing, and case conferences.
2. Assists in developing and implementing procedures and protocols to facilitate delivery of comprehensive health care. Participates in staff conferences, staff meetings, quality assurance activities and QA Committee as needed.
3. Supervises medical assistants by providing patient consultation as needed.
4. Participates in after hours on-call hospital care system for OB and adult medicine patients.
5. Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
