Marin’s Strategic Accounts organization is responsible for providing pre-sales technical support and the oversight of onboarding customers post sales, contributing to the quality and ultimately success of both the sales and on-boarding processes.
Marin is looking for a Sales Engineer, reporting directly to the VP of Strategic Accounts, which can support the following requirements pre-sales and post-sales activities.
Pre-sales activities include:
· Supporting Marin account executives with presentations to diverse, enterprise-class audiences ranging from C-Level Execs to IT resources
· Assisting in the execution of overall sales methodology for a prospect
· Serving as a point of contact for technical Q&A related to Marin integration related to:
o JavaScript/Server-side Pixel Integration
o FTP/SFTP File Transfer
o Custom Reporting Requirements (SQL)
o Web Services (SOAP/XML)
· Assisting in technical responses to RFPs, RFIs, and creation of client-facing / internal documentation
· Serving as a conduit of prospect-related product features to the product team for roadmap consideration
· Gathering customer technical requirements / details of environment for review and development of on-boarding strategy
· Serving as technical application specialist in bidding, reporting, and integration
Post-sales activities include:
· Managing client services and technical resources to ensure a successful on-boarding customer experience
· Continuing the build out of Marin’s enterprise-class documentation and methodologies for account on-boarding
· Serving as a point of contact for non-routine technical issues
· Defining custom integration / reporting requirements for implementation by Client Services Automation team
· Serving as customer-facing point person to coordinate the technical on-boarding processes
· Serving as an expert of the integration strategies for common 3rd party tracking tools Marin integrates with like Atlas, DART, Omniture, Google Analytics, Coremetrics, and more
Qualifications Required:
· Strong understanding of URLs, URL Encoding, redirects, and parameter passing
· Strong relational databases/SQL queries experience (MySQL preferred)
· Strong written and verbal communications skills
· Strong Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
· Prior sales training / product demonstrations with intuitive grasp of selling techniques
· Hands-on experience with Microsoft Excel formulas and macro language
· Hands-on experience with server-side web-based programming (PHP, Java, ASP, JSP, etc.)
· Hands-on experience with client-side coding of JavaScript, HTML, and CSS2
· Understanding of software development principles
· Understanding of website analytics tools
· Ability to work in a fast paced, team environment
· Ability to concurrently multi-task across multiple assignments

· Experience in online marketing via paid search, affiliate marketing, banner advertising, SEO, etc.
· Experience with online marketing agencies

Compensation:
Full-time salaried position with incentive performance component -- compensation dependent on prior experience. Position includes equity participation and comprehensive benefits (healthcare, vision and dental).
Required Travel: 10-25%
