Position Summary:
GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Under the direct or general supervision of Edison Charter Academys Principal and Academy Director, within a broad framework of standard policies and procedures, patrol school grounds and building areas to maintain order, security and safety of all school employees, students and property; promote positive behavior of students and visitors on the campus.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist in the security and supervision of students in or around campus building and facilities; oversee and assure student conduct on or around campus. Prepare and submit related documents including referrals, incident reports and related materials; issue transition passes as appropriate. Perform related duties as assigned in an emergency. Demonstrate qualities of a role-model by following Edison Charter Academys Core Values: Respect, Responsibility, Courage, Justice, Compassion, Hope, Integrity, Health, Harmony, and Wisdom.
Special Skills/Experience Required:
ABILITY TO: work with students and adults in maintaining order on the campus; understand and apply rules, regulations, procedures and policies; communicate effectively in both oral and written form; meet the physical requirements necessary to perform the job; establish and maintain co-operative relationships with those contacted during the performance of required duties, including school personnel, students, parents and the community; maintain regular attendance.
KNOWLEDGE OF: Edison Charter Academys policies and procedures regarding attendance and appropriate school behavior; child growth and development; identification of students with at-risk behaviors.
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: completion of high school or equivalent; possession of First Aid Certificate preferred.
