Position Overview
The Software Quality Assurance Test Engineer is responsible for testing and debugging software products through the use of systematic tests and the analysis of test results. The Test Engineer will develop, modify and execute software test plans and develop/use testing tools and methodologies to achieve the test objectives.
This position is entry level and will be filled by a recent college graduate (Fall 2008 or Spring 2009 graduate).
Duties & Responsibilities

- Early involvement with producers and engineering teams during product definition and development.
- Attend design reviews, code reviews and project meetings with the Engineering and SQA teams.
- Create and execute test plans and test cases.
- Create test tools and methodologies.
- Work closely with Engineering on a daily basis, debugging and verifying problem resolutions.
- Manage the project bugbase, report quality trends and product performance issues.
- Collaborate with product engineering to achieve development milestones.

- Familiarity with programming languages: C, C++, ActionScript, JavaScript, scripting languages.
- Familiarity with Java and Web technology skills including Java, JSP, AJAX, Flash, HTML (XHTML, HTML 5.0), CSS.
- Familiarity with embedded OS, Linux, common system utilities and scripting.
- Trouble-shooting skills along with familiarity with debugging tools.
- Ability to read and interpret flow charts and design documentation in order to script test scenarios.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills including the use of document and spreadsheet tools.
