Summary/Overview:

The Software Quality Assurance White Box Tester provides hands-on and automated testing for Leapfrog platforms and titles in development. The Tester is responsible for working closely with the SQA Leads, providing testing and build feedback. Teamwork and a professional attitude are key to this role. The Tester is responsible for running and creating test cases, test suites, test tools and scripts, entering defects into a bug tracking system, performing regression testing, and verifying bug fixes.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities:   

·     Create and maintain test cases, test tools and scripts

·     Execute test cases

·     Identify & research software defects

·     Verify fixed bugs

·     Develop verification and/or automation scripts

·     Enter bugs in bug database

·     Assist the SQA Lead in managing projects to completion

·     Assist in maintaining current testing documentation

Knowledge & Skills:

·     Minimum two years Software and Game Testing Experience

·     Knowledge of a common scripting language required (Python, Perl, Ruby, etc.)

·     Solid foundation of general technical knowledge – file/folder structures, data files (XML, JSON), image & audio files (PNG, JPG, Ogg, Midi)

·     Ability to identify needs for and read debug output

·     Ability to identify candidates for automation

·     Experience with Issue Tracking Software; familiarity with TestTrack Pro a plus

·     Skilled in bug writing, editing, and resolution

·     Ability to read and interpret flow charts, design documentation and media scripts

·     Knowledge of software game development required

·     Strong written and oral communication skills

·     Good organization skills

·     Excellent trouble-shooting skills

·     Ability to multi-task

·     Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel

Education & Training:

College-level C.S./New Media/Game Design Education (two year minimum)
